EVOLUTIONS
I have always had a grievance toward framing artwork. It costs too much!  and why should an artist have to spend time making frames rather than creating and perfecting her art?

Another question...do paintings and drawings have to sit flat on a wall and be some sort of rectangular object?  Why?  Frank Stella has been doing some interesting things and coming off the wall for years.

For quite a few years, I struggled with these ideas and began to make "relief paintings" avoiding the rectangle and flatness as much as I could.

In July 2007, I took a workshop (on a whim) from Michael deMeng.  I learned to use power tools, make sparks, take things apart and dismantle them.

I found a new power that I never knew I had:  cutting up, chopping off and recreating into something new, that which used to be.  The assemblage pieces are resurrected creations and full of past memories.
